About BM

Barkley's Mouth is all about the NBA as we speak on what's going down in the Association today and what should be happening down the line.  It's all about the glory (and disgrace) of the NBA. Our style is down, dirty, honest, and entertaining, just like Charles Barkley himself. Thanks for peeping what we throw down!

Donald Sterling Hearts Allen Iverson

Actually, not so much Allen Iverson the player because, really, who cares if a player hogs the ball, doesn't care to pass the rock unless he has to, and makes a big melodramatic fuss about coming off the bench, a role he'd have to accept if he played for the Los Angeles Clippers? Seriously, who cares? Allen Iverson, the tickets sales draw will bring Sterling more money! Wins? Overrated.

According to the NY Daily News, Sterling wants AI despite seeming disagreement from Clippers executives. To quote: "It's out of our control... This is owner-driven." Great, let the great basketball mind that is Sterling make decisions... oh, yeah, it must be good to be the owner. However, doesn't he pay "basketball people" money to control the path of the Clippers, the "basketball team"? Yes, he does, but he always has to be a buttinski.

Seriously, can't someone just sit Sterling down and say, "Listen, bub, since you bought the team in 1981, the Clippers have been to the playoffs four times. That's four out of a possible 28 postseason appearances, which comes out to 14%. If this were baseball, with that .142 batting average, you'd better be a pitching ace or have the combined fielding ability of Brooks Robinson plus Brooks Robinson plus Brooks Robinson. That's right, Don, I said Brooks Robinson three times. That's how much you'd have to shine in order for anyone to overlook your flaws. But, check it out, your flaws are visible and the biggest one is you. So, know your role and shut your mouth."

Unfortunately, when the whims of an owner are put to judgment, the owner doesn't have to give a crap. So, in this case, expect to see Allen Iverson suiting up in a Clippers jersey soon. Yes, indeed, it must be good to be the owner.
